Restaurant and catering

Sugar Spice is a lunch restaurant on Mårtenstorget in Lund, located in Saluhallen. Here we cook with respect for North African flavors and fresh Mediterranean ingredients. We also offer catering for your companies or private parties.

Our story

In a cozy corner of Lund, Sweden, Sugar Spice was born out of a deep passion for warm, soulful flavors — a love letter to memory, identity, and the rich history of North African cuisine.

North African food is not just a collection of recipes; it’s a story shaped by centuries of civilizations. From Berber, Phoenician, and Roman influences to the contributions of Jewish culinary traditions, this cuisine carries layers of flavor and culture. It spans mountain, desert, and coastal food traditions, built on ingredients gifted by the Mediterranean land — fresh vegetables, olive oil, legumes, herbs, and above all, North African spices, often blending more than 12 types in a single mix.

At Sugar Spice, we bring these flavors to life with a personal touch, inspired by the kitchen wisdom of grandmothers from Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco, combined with elements from the southern Mediterranean.

In our culture, food is more than sustenance — it’s a language of generosity, hospitality, and care.
